The Empire USA GU12 Red Select team capruted the title of GU12 Classic Division Champions at this year’s Arlington Spring Invitational in Virginia.  Allowing no goals in the tournament, including double overtime in the Championship game, the impressive defensive work of players from each of the cities, combined with the solid play of Syracuse goalie Jillian Firenze, sent the final game to penalty kicks to decide the Champion. Rochester’s Melanie Minotti buried a low shot to the left corner for the only goal against the runner-up BRYC Elite team from Virginia. Throughout the tournament, the tremendous effort of the entire team contributed to the success of this select team. Congratulations for a successful and exciting tournament!  The selecet team was coached by Madison Gates (Syracuse) and Peter Manscuk (Rochester).
